Online High School Nursing Courses
If you’re interested in a career in medicine, maybe as a nursing assistant or pharmacy technician, Sterling Academy’s Health Science courses offer the background needed to pursue certification in these fields. Nursing students may need more lab work or practice beyond the courses, but these high school nursing courses lay the foundation.
Of course, you don’t need to be gearing up for a career as a nursing assistant or pharmacy technician to take health science courses; high school nursing courses are also interesting electives. You can take one or all of them, especially if you have your sights set on working in a medical office or hospital setting, or if you’re considering pre-med in college. If your current school doesn’t offer these classes, you can take them at Sterling Academy and receive high school credit that can be transferred back to your high school.
Here are the classes we offer:
Health Science 1
This two-semester high school nursing course will introduce you to healthcare careers, as well as develop basic skills required for health and medical science careers.
Health Science 2
This two-semester high school course will prepare you in healthcare communications, legal responsibilities, ethics, team work, and safety practices.
Nursing Assistant
This two-semester course will prepare you to provide and assist with all aspects of activities of daily living and medical care for adult hospital, long-term care, and home-based patients.
Pharmacy Technician

This semester-long course will introduce you to the structure of medical terms, plus medical abbreviations and acronyms. What you learn in this course will provide you with a deeper understanding of medical terminology and prepare you for a career in the healthcare field.
