Enrollment and Registration Forms

Welcome to Sterling Academy! My name is Julie Sandler, and I am the Registrar at Sterling Academy. I am happy to see that your child will be studying with us! I will be working with you in the enrollment process.

Here are the things I am going to need from you to complete the student profile:

  • A copy of your child's student ID. Not all students have school or government-issued IDs. If your child does not have an ID, you can send a recent picture of the student, as that will satisfy this requirement.
  •  A copy of one parent's government issued photo ID.  For a complete list of valid government IDs, see the bottom of this message.

Please note: If you have a mobile device with a camera (cell phone, tablet, iPad, etc.), you may take a picture of the IDs and e-mail them to (registrar@sterling.academy). Sending IDs by fax is not recommended.

In addition to the 2 items above that you need to send to us, you will need to go to the following links:

Sterling Academy Enrollment Form

Full Time Monthly Plan Payment Agreement Form

Part Time Monthly Plan Payment Agreement Form

Individual Course Payment Agreement Form

Student/Parent Agreement Form

At the links above, you need to download the documents and do the following:

1) Complete and return the Sterling Academy Enrollment Form.

2) Complete and return one of the following: (1) Full Time Monthly Plan Payment Agreement Form, OR (2) Part Time Monthly Plan Payment Agreement Form, OR
3) Individual Course Payment Agreement Form depending on what you choose.

4) Read the Student/Parent Handbook.

Sterling Academy Student Handbook

5) Complete and return the Student/Parent Agreement Form.  The top part is a Letter Of Agreement the student must initial for each statement and then sign.  The bottom part must be signed by both student and parent (if student is under 18). This is your official acknowledgment that both you and your child have read the handbook, accept the policies, and agree to abide by them.

To return these materials, you can either email your signed documents to (registrar@sterling.academy), or you may fax them to 888-366-1057. Please be sure that the documents are clear.

Finally, after we receive all the above documents, Please watch the orientation videos that show how to use our system.

How To Video

If you are a full-time student, most of your work will be done in Edgenuity.  The page below has videos that introduce you to Edgenuity:

Edgenuity Video Help

You must watch the following videos, which apply to us:

  • Student Orientation Video — Course Map
  • Student Orientation Video — Overall Grade
  • Student Progress Overview (it’s at the bottom of the page)

Notes:

  • For full-time students or students taking an Edgenuity course, the entire Course Map video applies.  For students taking a world language course, the segment from 1:15-4:30 will not apply to you; your courses will have a different format.

There are several note-taking videos on this page — these would be helpful for you to view also.  Note-taking is an important part of academic success, and these videos show you specific ways you can take notes in the Edgenuity system.

Students can refer to any of these videos after getting their classes by going to the upper right corner icon in Edgenuity, selecting the dropdown, and choosing Help Center.

Also, there is something new in Edgenuity called Guided Notes. Students have reported to us that these are quite helpful.  Below is a video walking through the Guided Notes feature.

For more information, please refer to the Edgenuity resources linked on page 23 of the student handbook.

The Ignitia Help Center on the Student side after log in has the orientation (Intro) video.  The FAQ of the Student Help tab has information (text) about the most common.

Accelerate Education:  Each course contains a Getting Started module in the Resources folder for students.  Accelerate Education also offer a separate Orientation course that students can enroll in for no additional charge.

For students planning on taking eDynamic electives, all eDynamic elective courses include a "Getting Started: For Students" folder. This folder includes information on how to be successful in an eDL course, as well as, the course syllabus, vocabulary and more.  Students can also watch videos from eDynamic link Youtube Channel, which brings you directly to eDL for Students folder of 6 overview videos for students.

Once you have completed watching the general videos from Edgenuity (and eDynamic when applicable), then you will send an email to me (registrar@sterling.academy) to confirm you have reviewed the videos and are ready for your classes.

Also in the website under ACCREDITATION, there are course catalogs that your child can review to become familiar with the courses we offer.  After your child watches the orientation videos I will email him/her links to set up his/her username and password and Microsoft Teams account. Courses will be uploaded after the registration process has been completed.

Please keep in mind that you and your guardian will have your individual accounts.  Please check your emails where you will find the link to set up your accounts.  The username is given to you but you will both get to pick your own passwords.

If you need any assistance on how to set up your account, or how to use Edgenuity and/or eDynamic, you may contact the following people by email or phone:

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I'm looking forward to working with you and your child.

Sincerely,

Julie Sandler
