That includes using videos and interactive activities as well as more traditional study techniques. At Sterling Academy, one course credit is equivalent to two semesters of study in a subject. Our school offers flexible grade-level completion timelines based on students’ needs.

Online K-5 school is always available when you’re ready to study. Sterling Academy students can log in 24/7, any day, on their computer or device from anywhere that has an internet connection. Student-controlled learning makes it easy to work at a comfortable speed and also accommodate non-traditional personal or family schedules.

CONSISTENCY

Whether your student learns at home, abroad, from a hospital bed or on location working or performing or competing, they can receive the same education they would receive at a brick-and-mortar middle school – only better.

MORE CHOICES

Traditional K-5 schools typically cannot offer the range of electives you’ll find at Sterling Academy. Your student can supplement required core learning with classes from art to technology, to personalize their academic journey. Our coursework is delivered in a variety of formats, too. Learning is more appealing because it’s more relevant.

ONE-ON-ONE SUPPORT

The years between grade school and high school are crucial for student success. At Sterling Academy, your child will get as much support as they need to master facts and concepts, because our teachers have flexibility to schedule one-on-one consultation sessions with students.

OUTSTANDING CURRICULUM

Your student cannot get a great education without top-quality learning materials. For our core courses, we proudly use Edgenuity online curriculum, a program used in all 50 states by both public and private schools. Core curriculum for the K-5 includes language arts, math, science, and social studies. 

We take full advantage of online technology to deliver more diverse, more relevant and more engaging learning opportunities specifically designed to interest and motivate K-5 students. Courses may include video, audio and interactive activities as well as more traditional reading and writing assignments.

And it’s not just our curriculum that sets Sterling Academy apart. It’s also our team of certified, experienced and student-focused teachers. Unlike attending a traditional K-5 school, students are never at the mercy of overcrowded classrooms or rigid daily schedules that make it tough to interact in a meaningful way with teachers.

ELECTIVES THAT OPEN DOORS

Although our K-5 students only have to take the minimum 4 classes each year, our tuition covers up to 6 classes. That means students may take one or two electives in addition to their core classes. That could be technology or some other fun, interesting, relevant class – art, PE/health, music – we offer an amazing selection of elective classes you’d be hard-pressed to find at a traditional K-5 school.  Most of our elective courses are from Edgenuity.

 

 

FULL OR PART-TIME  

You child may attend Sterling Academy as a full-time middle school student. We also welcome part-time students who wish to take electives or other courses their school does not offer. Because we are a regionally accredited school, you can easily transfer the credits you earn back to your regular school.

Whether you want to register your child as a full- or part-time student, you may enroll them with Sterling Academy at any time and they can begin their studies. It just takes a few minutes to start the ball rolling on their new academic future.
