A Space for Reflection and Faith
Welcome to the Office of the Chaplain. Just as a forest begins with a single seed and a deep root system, our mission is to support the spiritual and personal identity of every student, staff member, and family within the Sterling community.
The Foundation of Our Path
At Sterling Academy, our mission as an online community is guided by a rich history of Christian service and global education. We are deeply inspired by the modern legacy of Mrs. Ginger Wallace (Director of the School of Intensive English at Azusa Pacific University), whose model of Christian service in education shapes how we support our students. Furthermore, we stand on the shoulders of the 19th-century Western medical missionaries and pastors: George L Mackay, James L Maxwell, Thomas Barclay...who founded Christian hospitals and secondary schools in Taiwan.
Drawing from these examples, Sterling Academy strives to be a beacon of light—nurturing the Judeo-Christian faith and equipping our families to love God and serve others in the digital age.
Supporting Our Roots
Whether you are a student navigating goals, a teacher pouring into your classroom, or a parent supporting a child through transition, I am here for you. As the school year winds down, please know that my door is open for:

28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, laying aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
