I talk to at least one parent every day whose child is a victim of bullying at school. I’ve heard countless stories of parents going to their child’s school for help, only to be told there is nothing they can do. I’ve cried on the phone with numerous parents wondering what I would do in their situation.

Parents and students seem to find me, the enrollment counselor for an online middle and high school, out of desperation as a last resort. A child who is being bullied at school seems to fall into one of three categories -- some experience all three: They have become withdrawn and have lost interest in school, they are ill, or they suffer from depression and anxiety. It’s often about this time that either the parent or student finds our school.
